Viedma Boat Trip

A journey to the heart of the Viedma Glacier

The experience begins in the El Chaltén area and takes us to discover one of the lesser-known corners of Los Glaciares National Park. While sailing across Lake Viedma, we'll enjoy incredible views of the Huemul massif and a landscape dominated by mountains, ice, and intensely turquoise waters.

For those booking the option with transfer from El Calafate, the tour begins with hotel pickup starting at 7:00 AM. From there we'll travel to Puerto Bahía Túnel, where we'll board to begin the adventure.

If you're traveling with your own vehicle, you should arrive at the port at 10:30 AMPuerto Bahía Túnel is 18 km from El Chaltén and the boat trip begins at 11:00 AM.

The first leg of the journey will take about 40 minutes toward Bahía Cabo de Hornos, while we take in the scenery of the Huemul massif. Once there, we'll disembark for an easy, roughly 25-minute walk to a panoramic viewpoint on the Cabo de Hornos Peninsula.

From this point we'll enjoy a privileged view of Bahía de los Témpanos (Iceberg Bay), where ice and Patagonian scenery combine into a spectacular sight.

We'll then return to the boat to continue sailing toward the Viedma Glacier. Approaching the glacier's face will be one of the tour's highlights, allowing us to take in its enormous ice walls up close from a privileged vantage point.

Once the boat trip ends, we'll return to Puerto Bahía Túnel. Those who booked the transfer from El Calafate will also visit Chorrillo del Salto before heading back to the city.
